Through a cooperative agreement with the USDA-NRCS, WMRC&D has employed a Soil Conservation Technician to work with the Allegany and Garrett Soil Conservation Districts to facilitate structural practices on farms. The Soil Conservation Technician works with producers to complete project surveys, designs, layouts, construction inspections, and certifications. This work includes waste storage structures, ag-chemical handling, ponds, stream crossings, roof runoff, watering troughs, high tunnels, forest roads, irrigation, and more.
